I hate to tell you this—because I’m really not sure how it happened—but it’s almost Christmas. You have precious few shopping days left on the calendar and a dwindling amount of time to plan your feast. (But if you’re lucky, you’re simply planning to join someone else’s feast, and there’s plenty of time still to wine shop!)

Regardless, I hope that by now you’ve enjoyed a handful of Christmas parties and your fair share of eggnog. And during those festive gatherings, I hope you’ve had a moment to remember what makes this season truly fabulous. Which is?

People. And our relationships with them.

I know—it’s sappy. But indulge me. At in2itive, we invest every second and every resource in helping our clients with their business. Managing the numbers. Increasing the revenue. Keeping the ducks in a mostly straight line. But I guarantee that what sets us apart as a service provider is our focus on the relationship.

Yes, we’re fantastic at revenue cycle management. And yes, we accomplish incredible things with our clients. I mean, we’ve recovered more than half a billion dollars in revenue for them. But I believe personal attention and relationship building are no small part of that success.

When you take time to get to know and understand people, you can better serve and support them. When you let yourself work closely with others, you develop a natural sense of strengths and struggles, and then you’re better able to boost them up in key areas. And that’s not just work life. Life is people—how you treat them, how you interact with them and what you accomplish with them.

And that’s all. So let yourself get carried away in the frenzy of the holiday season. Get completely wrapped up in shopping and cooking and eating and celebrating. But along the way, remember to make the most of every relationship. That’s what will carry you through the rest of the year.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We’ll see you in 2016!
